The work of Fused Glass Elements has been created with Tibetan traditions of Element colors and attributes in mind. Each piece has been inspired by a specific Element and its qualities.
WHAT IS FUSED GLASS? Glass Fusion is a transformative process in which two or more pieces of glass are kiln-fired to about 1400 degrees F., become liquid, and slowly cool to form one solid sheet. Dimension and unique colors are created by the layering techniques. The single piece is then fired again and "slumped" into a mold to form the final shape and contour. Each piece is hand-cut and assembled; no two pieces are the same.

The Five Elements
The Earth Element is associated with structure, order and support. It is considered to be the grounding of experience in stabilizing energy.
The Water Element is believed to evoke clarity and adaptability. There can be peacefulness in sensing the fluidity and continuity of events unfolding without obstruction.
The Air Element is seen as the source of ideas and movement. The freedom of shifting perspective or consciousness can come along with this Element's qualities of flexibility and pervasiveness.
The Space Element is considered to be the source of all form, and, so, contains all of the other Elements. In its expansiveness, there is room for all that arises and for integration into the totality of Being.
Across cultural traditions, from the ancient world to the present, the Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space (Ether) have been considered to be the building blocks of physical form and existence. While there is variation in the specific 4 or 5 Elements that are named and the colors that are connected with each, there is consistency in the belief that certain attributes or energies combine to create and transform all aspects of life -- from our physical bodies, to the aspects of nature that surround us, to our ongoing experiences.
In the Tibetan Buddhist and Bon traditions, the Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space are associated with the colors yellow, blue, red, green and clear, respectively. It is believed that health and well-being are the result of balancing the qualities of these Elements in accordance with circumstances and conditions that arise.
May the subtle remembrance of these Elemental qualities be enhanced, and may the Elements come into balance within the experience of this work
